Congratulations on your son or daughter’s acceptance into one of the nation’s finest schools…the United States Air Force Academy. The honor is a glowing tribute to you as parents. The next few months will be filled with many questions. Parents’ clubs exist across the nation to help provide the answers and support you will need as you transition from high school parents to Academy parents. Being a cadet is a world unto itself. Being a cadet parent is much different than sending one’s son or daughter off to college. Club membership allows you to understand the differences and the rewards, while acquiring useful information and support from other parents, cadets and the Academy.
We encourage you to join our club. Supporting the cadets is our number one mission by letting them know that we “all” care about them! Through this mission every parent ends up supporting each other, and their cadet is rewarded with a community of support! Your membership opens the door to information you might not otherwise receive. Meetings during the year provide an opportunity for parents to ask questions and understand the basics of Academy life. Examples of our annual activities include:
Send Off Dinner for Appointee/Parents
USAFA Parents’ Weekend Events
Fall Grass Roots Meeting (for prospective cadets and families)
All-Academy Military Ball
Appointee & Membership Family Spring Picnic
Cadet Goodie Box Packing throughout the year
Cadet Birthday Card with a monetary gift
An example of our fund raising activities is participation at the MacDill Airfest. We welcome your ideas for supporting our sons and daughters at the Academy.
We hope you join our club to access the wealth of knowledge of other member parents and cadets. We hope you join to share your cadet’s new experiences at the ever evolving Academy with existing members and future members. Being the parents of a cadet brings both challenges and rewards. Figuring out how to deal with the challenges as a parent is one of the best rewards of membership in the club.
